Georgia Boot Camp

Annual Preperation For Georgia Set

To play in front of over 500 colleges in the largest summer scouting event a team needs to be prepared. To better prepare the teams for the Perfect Game WWBA 17U/2018U National Championships Baseball U holds what we call our "Georgia Boot Camp".

The players selected for Georgia had over 180 players tryout for the entries in Georgia. The tryouts consisted of players from the 5 Baseball U organizations in the northeast. These players were selected over the winter for the teams that will represent Baseball U in Georgia.

The team starts out on Sunday, June 25th with a double session of practice. In the morning the team will have nothing but batting for the position players. The players from all over the northeast will then have a chance to enjoy the Jersey Shore in the afternoon before their nigh session which will bring all of the players together for a full practice session outdoors under the lights.

On Sunday the teams will be split up and play an 18 inning game at 10:00AM at the Wall Municipal Complex in Wall Twp, New Jersey where this will determine their final placement on the teams going to Georgia. This event proved very benifical to last year's group as 4 surprises took place as players made their bid for the Baseball U Prospect team which finished tied for 9th at the 2016 WWBA National Championship. Last year college coaches were on hand to see both teams prior to heading to Georgia and we expect the same this year as well.

This year's group from top to bottom is a deep group and both teams figure to be very competitive and the difference between the two teams ability wise is going to be very compatable.
