Winter Training Ages 7-18 Registration OpenBaseball U has partnered with GoodSports USA conviently located in Central New Jersey. This has been the home of the Baseball U High School Winter Workouts for the past 3 years. This year the winter workouts have been expanded and will be offered to little league as well as middle school players. It will be the same format used for the high school that has helped produce some of the best high school players in the northeast. The professional staff will be composed of Major League Baseball Scouts, current and former professional players as well as college coaches. The GoodSports Arena is a fully turfed facility that is 190 x 150 feet and has 55 foot ceilings. Not many facilities can offer the ability to have two full infield workouts at the same time. The ability for a player to throw full length of a field is valuable to a player being able to fully reach their potential for their skills improvement. Little League and Middle School players will register directly through GoodSports USA and the high school player will be able to register through Baseball U. The enrollment is limited for these programs to provide the maximum attention to a player’s skills. Each player will have an opportunity to work out at several positions to prepare themselves for their upcoming season. The high school program will again have college coaches instruct at the workouts. Colleges will come in from as far as North Carolina. The workouts give the player the opportunity to not only expose themselves to the colleges but learn specific drills used by those schools. All players in the high school camp do not have to be Baseball U members. The focus is to improve a players skills through the winter no matter where the player plays travel baseball. Baseball U does not have Little League or Middle School age teams. The reason for this is we do not want to conflict with what town little leagues or other travel teams are doing. The expansion within our program is to cooperate with the other programs and help develop their players with our professional staff. The facility itself is located off of exit 98 on the Garden State Parkway. This facility is accessible to all major highways including the Garden State Parkway, NJ Turnpike, Route 18 and Interstate 195. Last year the high school workouts had players from 5 different states.
