Shaw and Burns Earn WWBA All Tournament Team

Shaw and Burns named to All PG WWBA World Tournament Team

With over 1700 of the world's best high school baseball players on hand for the WWBA World Championships in Jupiter, Florida, two Baseball U players have earned top honors.

Chris Shaw (2012) and Tommy Burns (2012) have been named to the 2011 Perfect Game WWBA All WWBA World Tournament Team.

Chris Shaw (Lexington, MA) is one of the top power hitting first basemen in the country. Shaw a member of the Area Code and East Coast Pro Team ended the tournament for Baseball U with a mammoth walk off home run in the bottom of the 7th against the Sandlot/Midwest Scout team from Oklahoma giving the team a 5-3 victory. Shaw had most major schools in the country interested in him but decided to attend Boston College just 30 minutes from his home. Chris could be a top 5 round pick should teams feel he is willing to forgo college.

Tommy Burns (Fairlawn, NJ) who joined Baseball U this fall has improved his stock and proved he is one of the better pitchers in the northeast. Not only did Tommy prove his pitching ability on the mound but brought his SAT scores up as well. Burns was impressive on the mound all fall and proved he could not only throw his 89mph fastball but he also worked ahead of batters by throwing his power curve for a strike and using his slider as his strikeout pitch. Burns who is currently uncommitted is going to be a steal for a college. With Burns continued success he could be a possible draft pick out of high school.
