When you receive a phone call from the head coach of one of the most prestigious college baseball programs in

college baseball you listen.

It was an honor to have Coach O’Connor who we have known on a personal level for over 10 years reach out

and personally invite our Baseball U organization to a new event they have started at UVA.

The event will have only 8 teams from the entire east coast in attendance. The event will have the teams workout

and play 3 games over the 4 day event.

Upon receiving the invite we told UVA the only way we would attend is if we put together a team of our Top 2022

Graduate players that was composed of players from within our entire 5 organizations. By doing so we would be

able to have a high level of talent to showcase themselves at UVA in front of the UVA staff as well as all of the

other college programs in attendance.

Baseball U held tryouts for the event over the winter and composed a team of 20 players. 18 of those players are

2022 Graduates and 2 of them are 2023 Grads.

It was very hard to put together such a team considering the wealth of talent in the organization with over 180 players

to choose from. It is also hard to leave some players off the roster that have talent but just not the strength or size

currently. I am sure a year or two from now this roster might be different with everyone that has different growth

spurts.

We are excited to have such a young talented team competing in this event and Baseball U will be looking to expand

the National exposure to the younger ages as we move forward as long as the quality and travel are worth the players

and families time.

Baseball U and UVA have had a pretty solid recruiting relationship and Baseball U players have been well represented

at UVA. Mike Papi (1st Round Cleveland Indians), Pavin Smith (1st Round Arizona Diamond Backs), Joe McCarthy

(5th Round Tampa Bay Rays), and Jake McCarthy (1st Round Arizona Diamond Backs) are only a short list of players

from Baseball U who have attended UVA.
